Webcomic Highlight: Eff Eff Ex

This is not so much of a review as it is a highlight. Although this comic is already completed, I enjoyed it very much while it was active and is still one of the most single best parody webcomics i've seen so far. Where should I begin with this?

About the Creator

To start off, there's not a lot on the creator of this wonderful comic except that his username on Drunkduck is Denethor. Along with his webcomic Eff Eff Ex, he is also the creator of another webcomic that was rather enjoyable which is known as Why I hate FFXI, another of Denethor's creations which have ended, unfortunately. Aside from those facts, although his comics have a pretty rough style to them, he's a very talented and quick drawing artist with a fine sense of humor!

About the Story

Eff Eff Ex, aka "FF X" is a parody webcomic based around the popular (hahaha!) 2001 playstation 2 game Final Fantasy X. And if you've played that game, then you would know why a parody was made for it in the first place, lol x.x *cough* goofy voice acting *cough* goofy story...Anyway, the setting of the story takes place in the mysterious world of Spira, where the main character, Tidus, star player for the Zanarkand Abes (Yes...Really) crashes in to this world during a disaster in his hometown.

When he comes to, he is confronted by several strange faces that go by the names of Wakka, Lulu,Yuna and Rikku. Yuna is a young summoner that is destined to save Spira from the evil monster known as Sin (<.>), even go as far as willing to sacrifice herself if necessary. As they join forces and travel the world together, readers get to see the everyday lives of these weird people. Denethor utlizes chibis and makes them his own. Eff Eff Ex is rated T.

My Take

I still laugh pretty hard when I look back at this comic or when I think of a random scene from it. It's not an obnoxious parody loaded with mature content in an attempt to get a laugh. It's a good laugh with not too much effort added to it, which is awesome in my opinion. The creator doesn't have to try too hard to be funny. Please check out this comic, it is the truth! (literally! xD xD xD)

Webcomic Review and Recommendation: The only half Saga

Alright people! You're probably thinking that i've done a review on this webcomic before, and you're right if that is what you thought. The truth is, during the server move of my webcomic peizcomix, something happened to the blog and I was unable to access the original blog after the big move. So i'm gonna start from scratch and pick back up from where I started back at the old blog. That means if you remember me doing a review for a certain webcomic in the past, it will without a doubt, show up here, because I never forget a good read :].

About The Creator

Anyway, here is a little bit about the The Only Half Saga, as well as the creator of this awesome web comic. Firstly, this webcomic just so happens to belong to a good friend of mine that goes by the name of Denise Randall *Aka Darwin* over at Drunkduck. I describe her as a very passionate artist and writer who great at setting the mood in the story. Darwin is also the author of the webcomics known as GemutationsPlague  and the all new series which I recently discovered just a few days ago, Not Ready To Die.  (I'm actually really looking forward to that one, hehe.)

If you read my old blog, you probably remember me and my little rant about this particular webcomic not being featured soon enough. Well awesomely enough, since I wrote that post, The Only Half Saga was finally featured on Drunkduck. It's about time, huh? All I can say is that this webcomic was every bit worthy of a site feature. Might I add that Denise as well as the webcomic was featured over at The Villains Corner mid this year which is another great accomplishment she's seen thus far. Well anyway, I should probably move on to the story.

About the Story

The Only Half Saga is a compilation of stories that revolve around the life of a young (He's not young at all, he just looks it!) dhampir named Cabal(half vampire, half human). The story focuses on the many struggles that Cabal has to face in his life, including his apparent hatred for his father, Renate, for abandoning his mother during her pregnancy. He ultimately was forced to kill his mother at her will when he was very young, due to her uncontrollably violent and insane mindset (hell, she even tried to kill Cabal at some point!)

So Cabal literally sets out for centuries, desperately in search of his father, in order to avenge his mother misfortunate end. Cabal has pretty much made up his mind to go out and kill this guy whenever he sees him! Little does he know what obstacles lay ahead of him during his one-man mission!

The Only Half Saga updates several times a month on Drunkduck.com and is rated M due to some mature subject matters.

My Take

I'd hate to spoil too much in this one post (Because I read the bulk of it so far) but this is still one of the most interesting webcomics i've read so far on the net. I've been following the original comic known as just Only Half for several years, it was actually one of the first webcomics i'd been introduced since I first joined DD many many years ago. Only within the past year or so has the entire only Half series been converted to the saga it is now, which I think was a smart move on Darwin's part.  Readers can now read the entire Only Half series at only one url.

Anyway, this is a read that I would recommend to anyone who's looking for something a bit different from the regular webcomic. You can check it out here, it's definitely not a sleeper. Enjoy :]!

Old and New Reviews

Yup! We're back to reviewing webcomics again. If you remember back when I first started doing webcomic reviews over at Peizcomix, I ended up losing all of the data due to problems during site server move. So if I reviewed your webcomic over at Peizcomix, I'll be sure to re-review you over here. Sorry for inconvenience, we'll be back on the ball very soon :].

Webcomic recommendation: I was kidnapped by Lesbian Pirates from Outerspace

Today's Webcomic recommendation is that of "I was Kidnapped by Lesbian Pirates from Outerspice", written and Illustrated by Megan Rose Gedris. Megan started this comic way back in 2006. She wanted to create something portrayed lesbians in a positive light in the media, which in my opinion, she's successfully done so.  She is also well known for many of her other webcomics including YU+ME:dream and her most recent work, Meaty Yogurt.

About the webcomic

The title of this story says it all! I was kidnapped by Lesbian Pirates from Outerspace is a very popular webcomic about an everyday secretary named Susan Bell, who is kidnapped by a band of attractive women who claim to be space pirate aliens, and they all just so happen to be lesbians (you know where this is going folks!) Upon being kidnapped by these space women, Susan realizes that she is lesbian as well when she begins hanging out with them.

This particular webcomic has gotten plenty of recognition from the DrunkDuck community and has noteably won a Queer Press Grant

from the Prism Comics website. So the webcomic has earned a big name for itself after all this time. This is definitely a good read, and the webcomic is very much enjoyed by pretty much every comic, and you don't have to be lesbian to read it. So check it out :D.

Peizcomix

I'd like to introduce you to my very own website known as Peizcomix. Peizcomix is not only my website, but it is also a place where I post up fanart or suggest different websites that I like. It's not a very big site but there is quite a bit of content on it at the moment. You should check out the fanart section to see what all is there :3.

For The Love of Webcomics! Webcomic review and Recommendation blog

Hi everybody and welcome to my blog "For The Love of Webcomics!".

My blog serves as a mecha for webcomic reviews and recommendations and all that fun stuff! I had a blog a year ago but I lost it due to some problems during the move of my site peizcomix.com. So i've decided that i'd like to pick back up with the reviews again and rewrite about the one's from the last blog as well as webcomic's i've stumbled upon since then.
